Understanding the Value of a Good Mentor in Analytics

A good mentor can help you not only advance your career but also learn how to become a leader in AI and analytics. Mentors evaluate your current state of affairs to help you map out the most feasible goals, find vision and inspiration and give direction for growing your personal, leadership, and business skills.

But not everyone is willing to work with a mentor. Here’s why mentorship is a must:

● Discover your true value. One of your mentor’s main tasks is to help you find your driving force. They do this using different methods, but all of them guide you through a process of self-reflection and discovering how AI and analytics fit into your “big picture.”

With this revelation, it will become a lot clearer where you should take your career and what to focus on.

● Self-driven growth. Mentors are people who are so successful in the industry that they’re extremely sought-after.

For a mentor to accept working with you, you need to be of value to them, and they to you. This requires you to ponder your ideas and be proactive about your growth before seeking others’ advice.

● Authentic strategies. A mentor will evaluate your beliefs, values, skills, talents, and results before guiding you to make changes. Unlike with signing up for a course, these strategies will be personalized and tailored toward your vision, strengths, weaknesses, skills, obstacles, and challenges.

This is a type of individualized tutorship that often yields bigger value than classic education.

Finding a mentor in AI and analytics won’t be easy, but it is worth the effort. Remember your mentor and you need to align in philosophies and values. That way, you will be on the same page regarding goals. You will understand where you’re both coming from, and the results will soon show.
